ABOUT US Ellesmere Ducklings Pre-school Group has been established since 1993, initially funded by the enormous efforts of the local people, staff and parents. We are situated within the secured grounds of Ellesmere Primary School and are housed in a purpose built classroom. As a registered charity we are therefore a non-profit making organisation. We are members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance (P L.A.) and have adopted their constitution. Being a community group we are managed by a voluntary committee. Although the day to day running of the playgroup is left to our very capable and highly trained staff, members of the committee are always available should the need arise. And along with staff, parents and children they organise various fundraising events throughout the year. Karen Humphries (our Ducklings manager) and her staff all attend regular child protection awareness training and maintain continual professional development by attending relevant courses aimed specifically towards Pre-school early years care and education. A wide range of activities are always on offer covering all aspects of learning through structured and spontaneous play. Through play we aim to build confidence in language, physical and creative skills. In other words - EDUCATION THROUGH RECREATION We offer service, standards, values and facilities second to none with the latest toys and equipment. Our building offers disabled facilities and a baby changing room. All our sessions are designed to fit in with primary school with a full agenda offering the most diversified and age relevant sessions available anywhere locally. Providing a secure, caring and happy environment and offering a wide range of activities covering all development areas. Playgroup and family sessions available. Playgroup for ages 2 upwards.
