Does buying Ink Cartridges annoy you?
If you have an inkjet printer attached to your computer at home or work and your ink cartridges have run out, you have probably asked yourself this question at some point.
The main manufacturer’s Epson, Canon and Hewlett Packard all seem to bring a new printer out each week – and they all take different cartridges with different part numbers and names.
The ink levels are getting low…
So you’re happily printing and the computer flashes up ‘Your Ink levels are running low, to order more cartridges click here’ clicking on the link usually takes you to the manufacturer’s web site – upon arriving you would think that your specific printer’s cartridges would be clearly displayed with the total cost…..
Trying the direct route...
Unfortunately, your search for those elusive cartridges has only just begun – try visiting the HP web site – first you have to go to the UK version – then find your printer – which normally takes you to a page that offers you everything but the cartridges! After spending half an hour eventually finding your printer ink cartridges, you pop it in the basket and proceed to the checkout, enter all your details and then see that there’s a delivery charge and you will probably receive it in the next 3 to 5 days.
A trip to the shops...
You decide to just drive to your local office supply store and get them straight away. As you’re climbing into the car you suddenly remember the last time you were there… racks and racks of different types of printer cartridges, so you go back into the house and write down the printer model and even the cartridge number that the printer is crying out for.
After parking up and feeding the pay and display machine you walk towards the store and find the ink section. Looking through the racks… you can’t find your printer’s model anywhere… every other printer is there, just not yours! Eventually, you find an assistant to ask where your cartridges are kept and they say they’ve sold the last one yesterday and they will be back in stock a week on Monday – but would you like to buy a USB lead instead?
