August 27th 2016 Ellesmere Carnival
Every year Ellesmere holds it's annual carnival. The traffic going through Ellesmere is stopped while the parade goes through the Town. Each year you see a variety of floats fron steel bands to the local nursery group. The parade is normally led by the Fire Brigade and betweeen the floats there are various bands and marching groups. The streets are normally full with very little space to get a good view. After the parade the carnival carries on down by the Mere where there are various stall a refreshment tent and an entertainment ring where various acts perform. There have been motor cycle acts and dog groups all providing a great afterrnoon. There is also a few fair rides to keep people entertained. Recently the Carnival has had the addition of Ellesmere Rocks with bands performing from 4pm to late evening.
