Every year Ellesmere holds it's annual carnival. Thanks to a hard working Carnival committee the annual event continues to go from strength to strength. For a small Town the day a a fabulous success and continues to draw large crowds.
The Day kicks off with the large parade which will do two circuits of the Town streets. Full of Bands, Floats and indivuals dressed in costume and many old vehicles the carnival gets off to a fantastic start.
The parade is normally led by the Fire Brigade and betweeen the floats there are various bands and marching groups.
The streets are normally full with very little space to get a good view.
After the parade the carnival carries on down by the Mere where there are various stalls and refreshment tents.
An entertainment ring is situated at the heart of the afternoon's entertainmant where various acts will perform. There have been motor cycle acts and dog groups all providing a great afterrnoon.
There is also a few fair rides to keep people entertained.
Donations from carnival-goers on the day went towards raising funds for future carnival and music events, to make sure that the carnival tradition continues for years to come.
